WELCOME to our ALWAYS LEARNING, sometimes LOUD, usually MESSY... HAPPY CLASSROOM!
Meet the Teachers
Mrs. Wilson

Aloha! I am Mrs. Wilson and I am so excited to be teaching your child this year! This will be my 23rd year in the classroom. I have been teaching in ASD1 for my whole career. I have taught 1st and 2nd grade, but I am excited to be making my way back to where the fun and learning begins! While earning my degree at North Greenville University, I worked at two private preschools. I have always hoped that I would someday be able to get back to this setting, and this year was the time!
For my undergraduate education I attended North Greenville University. In 2002, I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education. Then a few years later I attending Clemson University to get my Master of Education in the area of Reading.
The greatest preparation for my career was not in these classes. I have been blessed to be the mom of two amazing children! My daughter Harlie will be a Junior at Clemson University this year. She is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal and Veterinary Science. She hopes to attend Clemson's Vet school when it opens. My son is a rising 6th grader at Palmetto Middle. His goal is to become a Marine Biologist and work with manatees. They have taught me the most important lessons. Being a mom I have learned the value of seeing the individual strengths and characteristics of unique personalities. I have learned to make learning an adventure and not a chore. This year my number one goal is to nurture your child and help them grow to love learning like my own children do! We will spend each day in our classroom exploring and discovering new and amazing things. (AKA Our Preschool Learning Standards)
I am also married to my super supportive husband of 25 years. Each of the 22 years in education he has been by my side helping me create creative and inviting spaces. I have the vision, and he makes it happen! He also spends many nights attending ball games and other student events to help me cheer on my students outside of the classroom. I am so thankful that he is so supportive of my school family as well as our family here at home.
One last thing that I must mention is that our family also includes 4 fur babies! We have two yorkies. Their names are Stitch and Chewbacca. We have one precious little rescue name Leia. She is a mix that resulted in the best of all her breeds. Our youngest fur baby is Callie. She is a Texas Heeler. She is a bundle of puppy energy that keeps our family on our toes!

Mrs. Heatherly

Mrs. Heatherly will be the second teacher in our classroom this year!
She has worked in the classroom for 20 years and 14 of those have
been at Palmetto Elementary. I asked her to share a little about
her favorite things, and this is what she had to say.

The things that make me smile are spending time with my family and friends. We like to go to places like the lake on my boat, Gemma or the beach. We can also be found strolling around downtown Greenville. I love going to baseball games. The Greenville Drive and Atlanta Braves are my favorite baseball teams. My favorite sweet treat is ice cream. Some of my other hobbies include reading, listening to music, working in children's ministry at my church, and watching college football, GO DAWGS!! This October, I will become, Lolly! My first grandchild is a little boy! I can't wait to meet him!
