Ohana Means Family

In this classroom we are more than teachers and students. We are a classroom family. Throughout the year our focus will be to help your child learn to value themselves and others.

We will learn to demonstrate love to others even when we may not like the choices they make.

We will give them grace and understand that everyone makes mistakes.

We will speak and act with kindness to others.

We will show respect and appreciate how each individual contributes to our classroom family.

Behavior Calendar

This year your child's behavior will be communicated daily on the calendar in your child's folder. There will be a green, yellow, or red dot sticker for each day. This dot is an overall picture of your child's day. If your child has a green dot this means that for the majority of the day your child made green choices. If you child has a yellow dot sticker this means that there were multiple times throughout the day that they needed to be reminded about how to make green choices. If your child has a red dot, they have consistently made red choices throughout the day. These would be choices that impact their learning or the learning of those around them.

I will not contact you about every red choice your child makes during the day, because we know that we all make mistakes. There will be times when a simple reminder of the right way will be enough to correct the undesirable behavior. If there is a consistent problem that is not improving I will contact you with more specific information to be sure you are aware of these concerns. Please remember great kids can have bad days.
